Medical Gastroenterology
The department is the first in the state to have a full time Medical Gastroenterologist. The main function of the department is to diagnose and treat disorders of the digestive tract. Diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract, which include the organs from mouth to anus, along the alimentary canal, are the focus of this specialty.

- Colonoscopy to diagnose and treat conditions of the large intestine and rectum and check for polyps, areas of bleeding, ulcers or tumours.
- Upper GI Endoscopy to diagnose and treat conditions of the oesophagus, stomach and part of duodenum.
- ERCP to diagnose and treat conditions of the biliary, gall bladder and pancreatic duct system like CBD stones, stenting for tumours, strictures of CBD or pancreatic duct.
- NBI (Narrow Band Imaging) for early diagnosis of cancer in the digestive system.
