ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography)
ERCP enables the surgeon to diagnose disease in the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas. In combination with this process endoscopic sphincterotomy can be done for facilitating ductal stone removal. ERCP is very important for identification of abnormalities in the pancreatic and biliary ductal system. ERCP can make the important distinction between whether jaundice is caused by diseases that are treated medically, such as hepatitis, or structural diseases, such as gallstones, tumors or strictures, which are treated surgically or endoscopically. Patients who are not jaundiced but have pain or laboratory abnormalities suggesting biliary or pancreatic disease, ERCP may also provide important diagnostic information. ERCP can be used to determine whether or not surgery is necessary and is helpful in providing the anatomic detail the surgeon needs to plan an operation when surgery is needed. The information provided by an ERCP is far more detailed than that provided by standard x-rays or scans. Several conditions of the biliary or pancreatic ducts can be treated by therapeutic ERCP techniques that can open the end of the bile duct, extract stones and place stents across obstructed ducts to improve their drainage.
Key-hole Surgeries Advantages of the Key-hole Surgeries over conventional ones are: Less scar; Less post-operative pain and complications; Less administration of antibiotics; Less hospital stay; Negligible blood loss; Faster recovery; Cost effective in working group;
The following surgeries are also routinely performed: - ESWL (Extra Corporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy) ESWL breaks up the stones in Kidney, Ureter and Bladder without surgery using Shock Wave into fine sand-like particles which subsequently pass out with urine.
- CLT (Cystoscopic Litho Tripsy) CLT is a procedure for removal of stone from urinary bladder by passing an instrument through natural urinary path and breaking the stone with the mechanical Litho-tripter.
- URS (Uretero-Renoscopy) URS is a procedure in which an ureterscope is passed into the ureter through urethra right upto the kidneys and removes the stone using a wire basket. Different types of URS instruments are used like different sizes of rigid ureteroscope and flexible ureteroscopes.
- PCNL (Per Cutaneous Nephro-Lithotomy) PCNL involves the removal of large kidney stones via single small hole by breaking into small granules under vision on the monitors.
- Other Uro-surgeries Other Urosurgeries performed at the hospital includes Nephrectomy, Nephrolithotomy, Nephrostomy, Prostatectomy, Pylolithotomy, SPC and Ureterolithotomy.

A well-equipped health care institute that will continuously strive to meet national and international health care quality standards is a must in the overall development and progress of the region. These facilities should be available at centres, which are accessible to the patients and the public at large. There is also the hardships they have to face in alien surroundings elsewhere. Moreover the ever-increasing population demands more health centres than the existing government institutes. Shija Hospitals is committed to render quality health care to the people of the region. Expansion from the existing set up aims at also generating more employment estimated at over 300 staff members including medical, paramedical and ancillary staff. In such a manner, Shija Hospitals aims at making its own contribution in the development of the region in particular and the nation as a whole.
